After the wedding ceremony of a Destin beach wedding, the couple may be asked to pick up a handful of sand and pour this sand into a heart-shaped container. This is known as sand unity, and is available upon request. Another ceremony that is available is the seashell ceremony. This ceremony also takes place after the Destin wedding ceremony is complete. The Minister will ask the guests to choose a seashell from a box filled with seashell. After choosing a shell, the guests will go to the edge of the water and make a wish for the couple. The shell will then be thrown into the water as pictures are being taken.
